Allan Irwin Basbaum PhD, FRS is a Canadian born medical researcher, and professor and chair of the Department of Anatomy University of California, San Francisco.〔http://anatomy.ucsf.edu/BasbaumFaculty6.html〕〔http://bms.ucsf.edu/directory/faculty/allan-basbaum-phd〕 He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
